Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

"We loved you so much we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well." (I Thess. 2:8)
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Montevideo! We discovered (at 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 1, the morning we were leaving) that our first flight from Harrisburg to Washington D.C. was cancelled due to mechanical difficulties. Our son, Bryan, kindly and quickly drove us to Dulles to catch our connecting flight. We only had 33 minutes in Panama to catch our next flight and we ran the entire length of the airport and were the last ones on the plane. We made it to Montevideo about 1:00 a.m. on September 2 with all of our luggage!
We had an amazing time this past year in the US, with family and friends. We ate some Pennsylvania Dutch favorites like pot pie, pork and sauerkraut, pickled eggs and whoopie pies! We visited churches and shared what God is doing in Uruguay. Several people told us that they pray for us everyday...that is such an encouragement to us! We got to see "old" friends and make new ones as well, and because of your prayers and giving to the Great Commission Fund we are able to return to Uruguay and share the gospel and our lives here.
A few days after we arrived (and had a covid test) we went on a prayer retreat with our team. It was a great time to pray together and get caught up on each other's lives and the ministry here. We are looking forward to what God is going to do! We are currently staying in an Airbnb and looking for an apartment. Sunday was our first opportunity to attend a worship service in our new ministry center, the chairs were full...a dream come true!
One of our friends, who said she can't wait to be baptized, took her granddaughter to our church one day and she loved it. She told her boss about it and her boss said that she wants to take her daughter so she can learn about the Bible! Another friend told us that his daughter really enjoyed a recent Adventure Camp hike and she wants to come to cooking classes again. He said that everyone on our team treats her so kindly, and she only goes to activities that she enjoys and where she feel comfortable. We are so thankful for how God is working in people's lives!

Yours in His Service,
Bruce and Steph.
