Making Plans

photo

Ed and I are heading back to the USA at the end of June for our year of home assignment. We recently met with Sukprasan, pastor of our mother church in Mahachai, and Sittichai, pastor of where we are currently serving in Baan Paeo, to make plans. We discussed how the churches can continue to support each other, how the churches can continue to reach out to their "Jerusalem", and how the churches can come together to begin the next daughter church in Baan Bo.

Baan Bo is a community of 30,000 people and currently has no visible church. It is located half-way between Mahachai and Baan Paeo.

"Baan Bo" literally means "house by the well or pond." The community is situated in a low-lying area off the gulf of Thailand. There are still problems with some of the streets flooding when the tide is high, but there has been much infrastructure improvement over the last several years. Right now, it is more of a "pass-through" type community, but there are signs of further development which would make it a destination community.

Our plans right now are to move to Baan Bo when we return from our home assignment and partner with these two churches to help them plant this new church. The Covid situation over the last two years thwarted our initial plans for outreaches. But we know God is in control and is preparing a people for Himself.

"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps."
Proverbs 16:9

Praise and Prayer Requests - May 2022

1. Please pray as we continue to plan and strategize with the pastors of the Mahapawn Baan Paeo Church, where we are currently serving, and the Mahapawn Living Water Church, our mother church, for the year we are in the USA on home assignment (July 2022-June 2023) and for the new church plant in Baan Bo. Pray for God’s wisdom and leading.

2. Sort-rip-shred-scan-toss…repeat. Please pray as we go through our files, our books, our clothes, and our other "stuff". Our goal is to only store what we will actually be using when we return to Thailand. God has given us a calm about this potentially stressful transition time. Thanks for your prayers. And please continue to pray for the peace of God to reign in our hearts. Pray too for wisdom as we process the "stuff".

3. Please pray as we begin to seek the Lord about what He might want us to share in the churches during our year of home assignment. Pray for His leading and anointing.

Thank you so much for all your prayers for us. Thank you also for your financial gifts to the Great Commission Fund of the C&MA in general and to our specific ministry. Both the general giving to the GCF and the specific giving to our ministry enables us to serve here in Thailand. Thank you!

Love in Christ,
Ed and Sue Danneker
