Noe and Keila Hernandez

Serving in Paraguay

We are Noe and Keila Hernandez and we are living and serving in Paraguay along with our children Magdalena (17), Santiago (15), and Eden (11). We love good coffee, good movies and good conversation. Our daughter Magdalena (Lena) is a talented artist and musician. She is very involved in school and is the leader/worship leader of the English youth group. Santiago enjoys soccer, the Green Bay Packers, and Minecraft. He is a leader in the school student council and is involved in the local youth group. Eden is a clever and sweet girl who desperately loves her dog. She also enjoys her friends, crafting, and playing volleyball.

A native of Mexico, Noe grew up in a Catholic home and as a teenager moved to the United States with his family. At the age of 17 Noe gave his life to the Lord and felt a call to full time ministry. Keila grew up on a farm in Iowa and gave her life to the Lord when she was 10 years old through the ministry of a Christian radio station.

Both attended attended Crown College and were married in 2003. From 2005-2013 they worked in church planting and Hispanic ministries in Ottumwa, IA. Missions has always been something close to their hearts and in October of 2012 they began to sense God's leading towards international ministry. They moved to Asuncion, Paraguay in January, 2014. Both work in church ministry and leadership development.

Here are some ways you can be praying for us

1. Pray for our family: Our kids have finished their school year well and will be entering 12th, 10th, and 6th grades in July. Pray for them as they begin a new school year and especially for Lena beginning her senior year of high school. Pray that we can stay healthy in the months ahead. Pray also as we begin the 5th (final) year of our second term. (Our 9th year in Paraguay!)

2. Pray for our ministries: Our family serves in the Mi Esperanza church. Pray for Pastors Victor and Fatima and for the other leaders. Pray that we will be able to serve the congregation well and be a light for Jesus in our neighborhood. Pray for IMAP as well. Noe will be teaching in the upcoming term.

3. Pray for our team: Our team has been experiencing several health challenges in the past months. Pray that we can be healthy and strong to do the work we’ve been called to. Pray also for our emotional health, it is easy to become discouraged when things don’t go as planned.

Blessings to you all,
Noe and Keila,
Lena, Santi, and Eden
