Tales from the Journey - May 2022

Dear friends,

We are sad to share that God took Dorie to her heavenly home. Dorie's suffering is over and she is now resting and rejoicing with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in paradise where all of us who are believers will meet again.

We would like to share a couple of stories to honor Dorie. I, Kit, called her Phi Dorie. "Phi" means older sister. She allowed me to call her that and it was my privilege and honor to do that. Phi Dorie and her husband, Norm Ford (I called him Ajaan (Pastor or Teacher) Ford) were my bosses when I began to serve God for the first time in full-time ministry. When I worked with them, I never felt pressure or depressed like in other jobs, even when I needed to be corrected or instructed. I remember once when they came to the office where I worked; Ajaan Ford waited outside while Phi Dorie came to talk with me. She was smiling and her actions were full of love, kindness and gentleness as she took me aside and talked quietly about the issue and suggested how to do it in an appropriate way!

Mark joined the team later. We both had the privilege to serve with and learn from them in life and ministry. On the night before our wedding. Mark and his family along with Norm & Dorie were at the hotel and Dorie was laughing as she told us she forgot to bring Norm's pants for the wedding. We all had a good laugh. Thankfully God provided pants from someone else at the wedding that worked, even if they were a bit big! Please pray for Ajaan Ford and his family for comfort and peace as they mourn this great loss.

Praise God for the short, but wonderful time to interact with our leaders and colleagues through the Strategic Review. Please pray for the Field Leadership Team as they work to implement the recommendations that came out as a result of this Strategic Review.

Starting in July, Mark will serve God as the Thai Field Director for one year before we go to America for Home Assignment in May 2023. So, Mark has started to train Brian who will serve part-time as a Regional Coordinator for CLD, like Mark has been doing. He will visit CLD groups in local Thai churches and help the CLD group leaders to grow in leading discussions. Please pray for Mark and Brian during this transition. Please also pray for Pastor Gae as he leads this new CLD group.

An exciting opportunity for Great Commission Day 2022! Your gift will be matched up to $170,000 when you give on May 24th online! May God bless us all as we give according to His leading.

Thank you for your faithful prayers! And also thank you for your giving to support of us faithfully!

All of Jesus for All the World,
Mark & Kit and Ephraim
